Catherine Hill Foundation

Welcome to the Catherine Hill Foundation Website

Catherine Mary Hill was a United States Border Patrol Agent who was killed in the line of duty while patrolling the international border along the Southwestern-most corner of the United States, on October 25, 2002. She was just 37 years old.

The Catherine Hill Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded by Catherine’s twin sister, Elizabeth, assisted by their family and friends in 2003, to honor Catherine's memory and to raise money for the different charities that were important to her.

Cathy worked with the Border Patrol's Peer Support Team, which responds to critical incidents involving Border Patrol personnel throughout the country, and also served as head adviser for Border Patrol Explorer Scout Post 1924 in Imperial Beach, California.

Her passion for working with young people lead her to StandUp For Kids, a nationwide organization which helps homeless and at risk teens. She volunteered as an outreach counselor and this became one of the causes that was closest to Cathy's heart. She supported StandUp For Kids with the same enthusiasm that she brought to her law-enforcement career as a U.S. Border Patrol Agent.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the foundation is to raise funds to support and advance the efforts of charitable programs, which assist homeless and underprivileged youth of San Diego. The Catherine Hill Foundation is staffed entirely by volunteers that represent such diverse interests as law enforcement, small business, legal, fine arts and the media. These volunteers have established a substantial network of donors and sponsors who contribute money or items for auction, the proceeds of which go directly and wholly to the programs that benefit homeless and at-risk young people.

Results of Fund Raising Efforts

The Catherine Hill Foundation raised $18,000 in 2003, at the Blue Angel Gala I and $23,000 in 2004, at the Blue Angel Gala II. This $41,000 was donated to StandUp For Kids in San Diego where Cathy volunteered.

Foundation Announcement
The Catherine Hill Foundation is suspending its operation as a non-profit organization as of December 31, 2007. The foundation’s founder and president, Elizabeth (Catherine’s twin sister) is devoting her time to writing books, conducting workshops, and guiding tours to sacred sites around the world. The website will remain up as a tribute to Catherine Hill and act as a documentation of the foundation's efforts as well as a thanks to all those who contributed to our success in raising $41,000 for StandUp For Kids in San Diego.
